- Much of AfD's historical talk archives are under Wikipedia talk:votes for deletion. To ensure that the archive search works properly, these should all be moved under the new title. Helpfully, the archiving under the new title starts at #32, so there's room for the old archives. A list: 1 2 3 4 4a 5 Z1 Z2 Z3 Z4 Z5 Z6 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 There's one more archive than there's room for, so one merge will be needed as well. — Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 10:22, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

- What titles do you want these pages to be moved to? Page Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion has these subpages (archives etc): http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special%3APrefixIndex&prefix=Wikipedia+talk%3AArticles+for+deletion&namespace=0 . The statement "There's one more archive than there's room for, so one merge will be needed as well" seems that you want them moving to a series of numbers 1 to 32. If so, what do the numbers refer to, which I boldfaced in my version of your list? Or where and what do you want them moved to? Calling the move instruction provided, causes an error window "The target page you have specified does not exist.". Anthony Appleyard (talk) 11:12, 10 November 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry for the formatting. I'm not sure what the boldface numbers refer to: that's how they're currently numbered on WT:AFD, but I don't think there's any need to keep using that system. I think the best thing would be not to merge (as I suggested) but just to just move them consecutively to /Archive 1 -> /Archive 32, and to move all the new archives up one, so /Archive 32 to /Archive 33 and then on from there. - There is a complication: pages Wikipedia talk:Requested moves/Archive 1 to Wikipedia talk:Requested moves/Archive 16 all already exist; see http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special%3APrefixIndex&prefix=Requested+moves&namespace=5 . And Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion/Archive 1 is a redirect to Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion/Archive 1 :: User:NawlinWiki moved it at 16:11, 10 November 2009 . The archives are mixed with many talk pages of VfD and AfD discussion pages, e.g. Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion/Woollyback is a talk page of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Woollyback, about whether to delete page Woollyback. - I'm not sure where Wikipedia talk:Requested moves/Archive 1 comes into this at all: did you perhaps take my "/Archive 1" comment to mean branching off of this page as opposed to off Wikipedia:votes for deletion? The first two archives have been moved because I {{db-move}}d them this morning before deciding that posting on RM would be a better idea than speeding thirty pages. And again I'm unsure where you've gotten Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion/Woollyback from: it's not in the bulleted list above. Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 23:18, 10 November 2009 (UTC)
